- Don't know if this is on topic or not... but I recently downloaded
- a program called DiskSpareDevice (DISKSP16.lha) from my local BBS.
- I am surprised I had not heard of it before... it allows you to
- format any Amiga Low-Density disk to 984k !! and even allows you
- to format amiga High-Density disks to 1968k !!. WITHOUT any kind
- of compression scheme. In this age of high-density disks.. and most
- of us Amigans being stuck with low-density disks.. this is JUST
- the ticket for those wanting to get the most out of there floppy
- drives. I would think that this "device" would be distributed with
- any future releases of the OS. It's a -MUST- for me.. I only wish
- that it would gain wide acceptance throughout the Amiga community.
- As it is.. you have to make sure that the people you share disks
- with have the device installed. Distributing it with the OS would
- solve that problem.
-
- I applaud author Klaus Deppisch for his effort! And advize anyone
- interested in getting the most from there floppy drives to check
- the program out!
